No it doesn't. Trust me on just 76000. Your way, you'll be 10 to 15 dollars short. But if that is how you want to figure yours out. Go right ahead. Put in a much larger overtime figure and watch your equation not work.

The equation still works.

Maybe you need to go back to school. Math is simple.

Look at a real life example. Say you work 40 hours per week and get 20 hours per week OT, pretty much the max OT you can get and still be DOT legal.

You will get roughly 9 months retro pay at 40 hours ST and 20 hours OT per week.

That will give you 1440 total hours ST and 728 hours OT of retro pay.

Your way...having to add up all your hours.

1440*0.70=1008
728*1.05=764.40

for a total retro check of 1772.40

The other way....

Your total pay on those hours worked, ST plus OT, is 91633.08

91633.08*.70=64143.16/36.19=1772.40

for a retro check of 1772.40

Wow, the exact same number, even with the max OT you can theoretically work.

Math is simple, if you understand it.

You still have to add up your total pay since August 1.

Adding up your total hours is not that much more labor intensive. They are both listed on your paychecks on upsers.com.

Okay, this is not right. It doesn't figure out overtime. Math is so simple, but oh so incorrect when done wrong. Straight time is 70 cents overtime is 1.05. Back to the chalk board.
Yes it does.

For someone making 36.19, it is 54.29.

Therefore say I work 1 hr or, I make 54.29.

How much retro should I be getting for every hour of it? 1.05

So let see the formula work it's magic.

54.29 / 36.19 * .70 = 1.05.

This isn't some kind of hocus pocus, it is math.

You don't know how math works, do you. Give me any amount, I'll give you the numbers.
