@upschuck
So animal sacrifices would be wrong but observing and keeping parts of the law you like is ok?
Especially since "lots" of churches do it?

Who am I to say Sunday is fine, but Saturday is not- @upschuck
Who? I thought you followed the NT? That's where it says Sunday is right and Saturday is not.

Not necessarily. Some interpret it differently.

We all believe what we believe.

Call it picking and choosing call it what you want, we all do it.

Focusing on the NT is IMO fine, I believe it is most useful for some instruction in a religious and spiritual life, and my personal relationship with God

I don't believe parts of the Bible like you do would be a better way to say it.
You, @Thebrownblob, @oldngray, @Integrity have decided that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is an actual, literal, personal indwelling.
My position is the Bible teaches the HS dwells in the Christian the same way God and Jesus does. It is by the influence/instrument of the word. There is no place in the Bible where the Holy Spirit was literally "in" someone. Plenty of places where His power was in someone because the HS gave them that power. That power allowed first century Christians to preform miracles . The reason was to confirm what they were teaching and preaching was from God. Remember, the New Testament was not written yet.
I have offered plenty of scripture that proves my position.
I have asked questions about your position that no one answers. You know why no one answers? Because it proves your position cannot be right.

Not sure what you are talking about.
Sorry to jump in on his comment but it seems to me that he is just trying to give an example that we all in a greater or lesser degree pick and choose the beliefs that work for us in spirit.

I suspect that is just how personal God is with us.

I don't think that's it.

So you think the only thing the HS is good for is miracles?
I'll try to answer to help you see what the Bible actually teaches..
The age of miracles ceased in the first century. The purpose of miracles was to confirm the word being spoken was from God. Jesus was given the Holy Spirit (the power from the HS) without measure or all the power of Deity..."For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure." - John 3:34
The Apostles were given the power of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1 & Acts 2. That is what they were baptized with. The power and ability to preform miracles. They began to immediately have the ability to speak in foreign languages so folks that were gathered there could hear the gospel message in their own language. But it was limited for a limited time. Some of that power(ability could be transferred to someone else by the Apostles laying on of their hands. "These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their (The Apostles)hands on them." Acts 6 When the last person died that the last Apostle laid their hands on to impart miraculous ability, miracles ended.
The HS gave us the written word that guides us into all truth. Makes everybody equal. God is not a respecter of persons.

I must have missed that verse.
Acts 20:7 "On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them....
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 "Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come."
Tough to follow these examples and direct commands on Saturday. This is called pattern authority.

Do you believe everything in the Bible is worthy of emulating in your own walk with God while on this earth?

We know you won’t.
I believe as a Christian that everything I need to know to live according to God's plan for us is found in the New Testament. I also believe it's not my right to ignore the writings of the Apostles but my duty as a Christian to follow scripture to the best of my ability. If I fall short then God's grace covers me if I pray for forgiveness and and in my heart sincerely try to comply with his Word.
