Right up there with their participating in United Way only it's the employees doing the contributing.
I make no contributions to United Way.
Mgrs are employees too. But we never hear about company contributions, just PR about FedEx.You don't think the managers aren't "asked" to contribute?
If you have friends that are homeless, why aren't you doing more to help them out of that situation? I mean other than coming onto a message board and acting like a know it all, that is.On behalf of my homeless friends I say "thank you".

But you're an expert on everything! Certainly you have more than that!I share my worldly experiences with them, which are far more valuable than any material items.
It used to piss me off that guys making upwards of $100K couldn't be bothered to help out those less fortunate. They would begrudgingly donate $1 just to get mgt off of their backs.
Agreed. Just because you don't believe in supporting United Way in no way means you don't give to charities. The thing about that though, Dave, is you have no idea whatsoever whether those guys making upwards of 100k are donating to those less fortunate than themselves or not. Many people donate quietly or they give of their time to charities. Just because they don’t give to United Way doesn’t mean they don’t give.

I didn't say I don't contribute to any charity. I donate to many groups. Just not United Way.
Agreed. I’ll give to the charity of my choice not Fred’s.I'm with you. I don't like the fact that FedEx pressures employees to donate to United Way so THEY can look like a good corporate citizen. So, I give privately to charities of my choice too.
It's all about presenting an image of caring and being a "people" company, at least to the public. Fact: United Way personnel aren't generally allowed on-site because that would open the door for other groups to also be on the property, like The Teamsters.

You should change your username to 59 Sycophant. It would open no such door. FedEx can allow whichever organizations it wants onto its properties and for whatever reasons.
