Wait, sooooo.....step increase this April not October?1) Over $200 million in increased compensation, about two-thirds of which will go to hourly team members by advancing 2018 annual pay increases by six months to April 1st from the normal October date. The remainder will fund increases in performance-based incentive plans for salaried personnel.

True, but I bet most employees would prefer the one time payment. If you were familiar with the more than a decade of tiny raises or no raise you'd know what I mean by FedEx mentality.1000 bucks is a 1000 bucks
It's most certainly "good." But far from great.will at least there is something thats good
no i get it, but you take it when you canTrue, but I bet most employees would prefer the one time payment. If you were familiar with the more than a decade of tiny raises or no raise you'd know what I mean by FedEx mentality.
Put it this way. I quit at just shy of 15 years making $18.17 hr in 2013 while you had been making over $30hr for years. We had to work next to topped out employees making much more than us for many years and we weren't catching up to them. Much better pay system now, but FedEx went into it kicking and screaming. That's their mentality, only pay enough to keep you at it. It was a super high turnover rate that finally got them to pay better and it's still nowhere near your pay and takes almost twice as long as you do to reach top pay.no i get it, but you take it when you can
They already have an annual raise system in place. Moving it up 6 months this year gives you an extra 6 months over what they would've got in October anyways.A raise applied into the life of your employment is much more than a $1000 lump sum taken in a given year.

Whoa, whoa. Wishful thinkingI wonder if we’ll get the April step and still get the October this year. That be nice
I highly doubt that.I wonder if we’ll get the April step and still get the October this year. That be nice
It's only a raise for 6 months. Basically a bonus but not in a lump sum.A raise applied into the life of your employment is much more than a $1000 lump sum taken in a given year.

This is why they did it this way, fools a lot of people and sounds better for publicity.Actually the raise lasts until you quit. It does not end after 6 months.
FedEx has that publicity thing thing down to a science. This is why they did it this way, fools a lot of people and sounds better for publicity.
It's the raise they were already going to give you, just 6 months earlier. That's a bonus spread out over 6 months.
