I can't imagine having to go back to package after 10 years in feeder.

Here they can’t go back unless they’ve been qualified to package car drive in the last 18 months. If It’s been longer than that since they’ve drove package car they cannot drive package car. They can only work in the building.

Here they can go back, but are at the bottom of the unassigned list. Either way it would suck.

Here, if they've never driven a package car, the company has to train them:

A laid off tractor-trailer driver who has never driven a package car
or route shall be considered not qualified as a package driver. Such
tractor-trailer driver will be trained to be a package driver. If more
than one tractor-trailer driver is laid off the senior laid off tractor-trailer
driver will be trained first. When that training is finished, the
next most senior tractor-trailer driver on layoff will be trained. This
training will occur provided the laid off tractor-trailer drivers have
more seniority than package drivers still working in the center.

Lol, training. You get 3 days then tubby is on his own. Good luck. You will be doing different routes every day.

In the central region couldn't they bump back into packages after 30 days of being laid off? Or am I interpreting this wrong?
