I’ll take you at your word on that one.No, we follow the Scriptures.
Sometimes, yes. But you see why I call you fundamentalists now. It’s not an insult, just a description. You just don't like what they say.

I felt prompted in spirit this morning to ask you if you also believe those referred to as the Apostles were perfect men?
I don’t believe they were.
Good morning @BrownFlush et al,Please explain how the spirit prompted you this morning.
Words, feelings, or something else?
You credit the spirit, so how was it done?
How do you discern between the prompting of the spirit and your conscience?
Good morning @BrownFlush et al,
After much contemplating and seeking God’s guidance, I feel prompted in spirit to share the following 3 documents with you in this discussion thread and not in private.
https://emotionalsobrietyandfood.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/how-do-i-begin-pamphlet.pdf
https://aa-netherlands.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/en_step11.pdf
Be advised, I do not wholesale believe or disbelieve anything stated in the above 3 shared documents.
I simply use them to assist me in understanding and experiencing talking to and listening to God in a more personal and effective way than I had previously done before I felt led to a real personal connection with the God of the universe.
The meaning of that is searching the web for a week to answer because you can't answer the questions on your own. You have posted more false teaching that is contrary to scripture.
If you had in you what you claim, a personal, literal indwelling of the Holy Spirit , you would need no assistance.I simply use them to assist me
Phoebe?
She was a deacon.
Most all versions have a footnote that also says "or deaconess".
True, but it is also in the Bible. Not making it up
No need for Greek. The Bible is very plain in it's teaching that Phoebe was not a deacon.Wish I could.
I understand completely.
Untrue. I explained the documents, you refuse to accept my explanation. The meaning of that is searching the web for a week to answer because you can't answer the questions on your own.
Just because it is contrary to your understanding and interpretation of scripture that you have been indoctrinated to that doesn’t necessarily mean it is in fact false teaching, as you put it, or contrary to scripture either. I believe you’ll reject this but that is nothing new to me.You have posted more false teaching that is contrary to scripture.
I disagree with your statement. If you had in you what you claim, a personal, literal indwelling of the Holy Spirit , you would need no assistance.
Who told you this? Your church? In closing, the Bible teaches that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit can and do dwell in a Christian. The scriptures also teach that God dwells in Jesus and Jesus dwells in God. None of which is talking about a literal, personal indwelling. There is no place in scripture a person of Deity has ever been literally in anyone. Not only is it not in there, but a literal indwelling of Deity would require a miraculous incarnation.
The "way'' Deity dwells in a person and each other is taught in scripture. It's the same way I am "in" my Father (Dad) and he is in me. When I display his characteristics by the things I do and say, a person could look at me and say, "There is no doubt, you are your Dad's son, you're just like him."
The fruits (characteristics) of the Spirit are found in His word and only in his word. You cannot know what they are unless it has been revealed in His word. When my life displays and I live like the characteristics that are taught there, one could rightly say, "The Holy Spirit is "in" you. Why? Because I am acting, talking, being just like the characteristics, the being of the Holy Spirit.
Yawn.Who told you this?
I don’t see this as plainly as you do. It seems to me that not all Bible translations see it so plainly as yours does either. No need for Greek. The Bible is very plain in its teaching that Phoebe was not a deacon.
Translation?Qualifications for Deacons
"Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,c not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewised must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus." - 1 Timothy 1: 8-13
Some obviously disagree agree with your interpretation. There has never been or ever will be a woman who will fit these qualifications.
Who personally told you that the Bible tells you everything you need to know?Yawn.
Try reading the Bible. It "tells" you everything you need to know.
I never interpreted anything. I quoted scripture. Grab any translation you want. Or, dream up one that fits what you want to think.I don’t see this as plainly as you do. It seems to me that not all Bible translations see it so plainly as yours does either.
What translation do you use?
Translation?
Some obviously disagree agree with your interpretation.
But I get it.
That makes their interpretation false and your interpretation true. That’s how you roll. Glad it works for you.
The Apostle Paul via inspiration of the Holy Spirit.Who personally told you that the Bible tells you everything you need to know?
When?I am wrapping this up.
Yes you quoted a translation( a secret one for some reason) based upon interpretation.I never interpreted anything. I quoted scripture.
I would have to say that since women have been deacons, still are deacons and have been very competent and capable deacons this negates your interpretation’s (whatever version that is?) point of viewA woman cannot be a deacon because it is impossible for her to be a husband.
Hope this helps.
Yet here you are again.Thread should have been locked a long time ago. Useless. Like the vaccine
It's the ESV. Try any you like. They all say that a deacon is a husband.Yes you quoted a translation( a secret one for some reason) based upon interpretation.
IMO This is communicating your submission to the interpretation thereby accepting this interpretation as your own.
I would have to say that since women have been deacons, still are deacons and have been very competent and capable deacons this negates your interpretation’s (whatever version that is?) point of view
IMO it calls the need to be male into serious question. It is quite obvious that it is quite possible for a female to be a deacon, to be quite good at, and to be better then male deacons at times.
Who personally told you that you should follow the Apostle Paul’s teaching as you have quoted? The Apostle Paul via inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [c]instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." - 1 Timothy 3:16-17
Compete, throughly equipped. Hope this helps.
