You still can seem unable to come to terms with the fact that everything you told me about your union activities would have NEVER HAPPENED if not for the rule of law born out of legislation passed decades ago. Now you tell me given that your national president's members were so disinterested in those proceedings or flat out too damn lazy to even vote on a new contract that he clearly lacked the firepower to continue negotiating, what else could he do? His power comes in the from of a unified mindset among his members which was at that point clearly lacking. It was either take the deal on the table or risk a fracturing of an already very fragile union.
If you were paying attention you might have noticed what happened last fall regarding Spencer Patton's efforts to organize Fedex Ground contractors into a single bargaining unit. Seeing what the other FXG contractors did to that poor guy makes me glad I'm no longer one.
I think if you weren’t so interested in hearing yourself talk, even though you’re saying nothing you would’ve realize I explained very nicely to you that I understand completely. The government involvement in union activities is.. At one point it was a blessing and now it’s a curse similar to almost anything that happens when you get involved with government did you pay attention to that or are you just like I said want to hear yourself talk? The reasoning behind our former presidents decision making was a lot more complicated Then you make it, at the time it may, or may not have been the right decision, but leading up to that there was much that could’ve been done to interest the members but since you’re not a teamster, it’s really not your business so I won’t go into it. About once a month I go to our state capital and deal with our state legislators on behalf of labor issues. The majority of them are nothing more than money whores who will sell you out or promise you something, and then turn around and do the opposite. And most of them are in the pocket of my business doesn’t matter which side of the aisle they’re on. Labors time could be sent so much better if we didn’t have to be involved with the government.
