Coronavirus

74,881 dead Americans, 1.265+million plus known infected. Yesterday’s 2,528 dead shows that America is still in its peak. Virginia already has 1,300+ newly infected today. Also yesterday the Land of 10,000 lakes had 700+ newly infected and 30 dead. That state is just starting to heat up.

AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE
Everybody on the list screenshot your time cards for this week; the time card server is undergoing “maintenance” this weekend... extremely convenient

Majority of new COVID-19 hospitalizations in New York are people who stayed at home

96% also have underlying health issues, according to data revealed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

They aren’t frontline workers. They aren’t riding New York City subways. They aren’t stuck in jails or homeless shelters or other congregate facilities where the disease could spread easily.

The vast majority of New Yorkers still walking into hospitals with COVID-19 have been sheltering at home and avoiding mass transit. Very few were even traveling on foot or in their own cars on a daily basis, according to a survey of new patients from over 100 hospitals across the state over a three-day span. Of those surveyed, 66% were at home before entering the hospital.

“We were thinking that maybe we were going to find a higher percentage of essential employees were getting sick because they were going to work. That this maybe was nurses, doctors, transit workers—that’s not the case,” Cuomo said. Some 83% of new patients are out of work or retired, and aren’t even leaving their home on a daily basis.

obviously with a shelter in place, most new cases will be transmitted at home. Pretty simple? Heh

this aspect is somewhat dated and I've read the arguments circling the web

It's beyond time, for many areas, to get open and get the economy again though. the fallout of economic disaster will be more dire than the virus if most, continue this for another month or longer.

Ya. Rising body counts are going to get people back in restaurants in no time! 3k deaths a day are going ignite the pent up demand of the 30% unemployed. Lulz. We’re all screwed.

The nursing homes and the folk with prior medical problems are where the deaths are happening. Start reporting them separately.

The resturaunts can go under. How hard is it to cook a meal at home? I get it...we transitioned to service economy since the past 3/4 century and the restaurant industry is a massive part. But there also must be ways to move forward and spur new ideas and technologies to fill the void.

Most realize we are screwed anyway. That was always the case though...we knew it's a damned if you do, or don't choice and no matter we lose. But we need economic damage control soon, because again the pain will be a lot worse for EVERYONE without a healthy economy

I don’t see a way to calm the public without widespread testing of both current cases and people with antibodies. We haven’t really gotten anywhere in that regard.
