Ground taking over

How do you think it will turn out ?
It's hard to predict.

I think in areas where it works out well they'll try to squeeze everything they can from it. They've said the goal for all of the planned consolidations is 2027. They probably don't get as much savings from it as they want, though it doesn't have to be perfect to be effective.

Well , I work there. I understand how the company runs and in my opinion when service is deplorable, customers will go elsewhere, hence profits plummet.
That’s how business works
And if you know that the stock price will plummet -which you said it would- that's why you would short the stock. That's what shorting a stock is - betting that it will fall in price.

service isn't the only metric with customers though if FedEx delivers my :censored2: on time 96% of the time and ups 98% but costs twice as much i might just stick with FedEx. If FedEx has one day lanes via ground to half my customers and 2 day to the other half but ups is 2 and 3 respectively even the 4-5% of my stuff that is late is still arriving the same time as ups would the other 95% is quicker.

Hell, even network service % doesn't even give the whole picture if I'm shipping out of Chicago my rate could be 99% on time and ups could be 80% where Tracy California (notoriously one of our worst hubs) could be inverse.

Even if express take a small hit by using ground there are far more moving parts to these decisions than what you are letting on.

I don’t think it’s going to be close to that percentage. I’m thinking much lower. People pay big money for express before 10:30 and expect it

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Oregon is not a right to work state
I agree that Oregon is not a RTW state. Please cite some locations as OR is very protective of jobs, especially lower wage ones since once you're out of PDX Metro it's a fairly depressed economy. To the point where you still can't do self-serve gas unless you're in a very rural area or at a casino. Locations?

I'm not in OR but I'm in the same district. We were told yesterday a small location in OR (Mt Hood?) was being closed and they would only be retaining 2 couriers.

I’ve been reading how some ground employees are happy and satisfied with around 25 bucks an hour. That being said , if they plan on staying for awhile or even a career they have to understand at the end of the day their building no future.
If you don’t have paid sick days , 3,4,5 weeks paid vacation , personal days and most importantly a retirement plan.
This is a Fortune 500 company , employees deserve this for the work we put in, quit selling yourselves short. Remember , Fred S is a multi billionaire and grew his wealth from us , the foot soldiers who end up with knee , shoulder and back surgeries for our retirement gift.
I just don’t understand it

Let's not forget there are alot of jobs out there that are far worse than being a Ground Ape, and for less money.
