Nashville ramp?
There's a huge cost savings to truck everything from MEMH to BNAR but it would probably be way too much of a hassle. . Plus there's still the INDH flight. They can absorb a decent enough amount of freight into the Ground with the flight setup they have now. That's not to say that there won't be changes to facilitate the consolidation, just that there is no pressing need to do so right now.

Ground has been running the scab outfit for years. Fred was on Sunday morning show and he emphasized his military service and not FedEx, ran a little promo tape but he down played the whole FedEx part, he is separating himself from the carnage about to occur. Just another owner operator trucking company. Ground is being overwhelmed with what are called IC’s . IC are just incompatible packages means they are floor packages in the truck. Driver comments said a lot of curbside deliveries are the normal. Be ready for a new round of dump deliveries on the internet.
IC’s were the worst. I can’t tell you how many times a shipper would list the weight as 149lbs. Then, if you insisted on having it weighed, it was over 150lbs every time. If you refused to take the package due to it being overweight the terminal manager would have a brief meeting with your contractor and you’d be “persuaded” to deliver it “just this once” because it had “made it this far.”

IC is simply a trendy term used to describe motor freight stolen off the LTL's You know, that so called "TEAM LIFT" stuff.
Trucking companies open and close terminals all the time.
In the neighboring town YRC moved out of the dump it was in into an even dumpier place but it did give them a bit more room to park trailers. Not long afterward Central Freight moved out of the cinder block shanty it was in and moved into Yellow's shed.

Keep in mind too the contractor is not actually the one paying the slab in the cab. All they're really doing is taking Prime Weasel's wage offer and passing it through to his drivers. Remember Prime purchases trucking and the labor to run the trucks from the contractor. Therefore, he'll only pay just so much for the truck and the labor. It's then up to the contractor to find somebody willing to take what Prime Weasel is willing to pay . If he's lucky enough to find somebody willing to take the deal AND actually give a flying facial fornication about the job and performs accordingly....fine. But, when that loaded trailer sits in the lot for the biggest part of the week because nobody came to hook onto it or it's noon and that P&D van still sits in the slot because there's nobody to get in and drive away....well, those are contractor problems....While Prime Weasel remains shielded from the feces storm while Jim Cramer worships the ground he walks on.

He's simply jettisoning modestly compensated Express people and replacing them with poverty level Ground grunts and doing it in a way that looks like he has nothing to do with it and it will be all good with the American public....for awhile.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
Until it’s not and your company has lost its reputation of being whats left of an elite delivery company
