You said it, the external ones tend to be taken a bit more seriously.A lot of difference between an external customer and an internal customer ... especially at UPS.

I always thought UPS took care of the shippers. You said it, the external ones tend to be taken a bit more seriously.
NoI always thought UPS took care of the shippers.
They don't now?

They don't now?
In what way?
Cut routes, inconsistent pickup times, oops we forgot to cover that pickup today. In what way?
Many pick ups times have been moved so that they are picked up when delivered. Can't rack up those Orion miles. 11 am delivery? Sorry I'm supposed to pick up too.In what way?
60 was a 9.5
70ish miles to first stop
Sometimes 12 different zip codes spread over 3 counties
These shippers average more than one package per day? Many pick ups times have been moved so that they are picked up when delivered. Can't rack up those Orion miles. 11 am delivery? Sorry I'm supposed to pick up too.
I was being sarcastic in a way saying that the internal customers "the employees" are not treated like the external customers, who are the ones UPS pays attention to.I always thought UPS took care of the shippers.

Yep. Some are decent sized. 10-30 packages per day. These shippers average more than one package per day?
I remember implementing on trace back in the 80's as a center manager if the shipper had less than 5 packages per week but then an air pickup driver would swing by if they had any air. Different world back then ... pre-DIAD.
Had to read it twice but you are correct ... funny how the mind works sometimes.I was being sarcastic in a way saying that the internal customers "the employees" are not treated like the external customers, who are the ones UPS pays attention to.
Nope ... nothing like that kind of volume. Things do change.Yep. Some are decent sized. 10-30 packages per day.
Depends on the center manager also. Some won't do it. Others do whatever they are told.
...if you're meaning I don't say anything about negative customer interaction, that's cause their are none..
I had no EDD on Friday. Had to manually enter 112 stops.I worked yesterday. Our PDS could not get EDD to download so we were told to force the addresses in to the board. The look on some of the newbie's faces was priceless.
The only inclination of heat I've gotten was delivering and early AM NDA on a Saturday to a high end race boat builder.. I dropped off his package and he said, "where the friend is the important one?". I said I'm not sure, that's the only one I have for you. He says that's bullSh, I ordered them both at the same time from the same supplier. I said check your tracking number, if there's a problem call the center. have a great day! I went back there the next Saturday with the IMPORTANT package. And he apologized to me and said his shipper messed up..Give it time----there will be.
I was with UPS from 1973 to 2013.
The only thing I can come up with is "every package is a guest" even though I don't remember it.
