How many people are waiting to retire until they see what happens with the pension?

Aside from that effect, in my region, these drivers will have the ability to bump into the sorts (or take a layoff) until they are recalled.

....and they could also bid any newly created full-time jobs too.

I see no downside to creating more full-time jobs, aside from there being less part-time jobs?

I don’t see any drawbacks either, but my post was in reply to the post that said the money issue was done and the only issue holding up the contract was FT jobs.

I don’t think that is the only issue, but that’s what I was responding to

I don't think so either,

....Sean all but said that part-time wages are what they are hung up on.

He's been making the rounds being interviewed by many news outlets the past two days, which I find refreshing.

Are you suggesting that there is going to be a magical increase in the pensions for those that are about to retire?

I'm also encouraged by how well he's doing in these interviews, staying focused on the points. Not that he's got any real hardball questions that I've seen, but it looked really good when he pointed out the BS PT wage UPS gave them for numbers.

Above that, UPS' silence is deafening. Not a good look when SOB shows up for an interview and the company declines or delays.

I hope you all get a good contract even though Union boys hate "management". No, you still can't have my job. :-)

From internet:
"Now I understand why UPS gets paid the big bucks! 210 stops 301 packages, heavy ass boxes 🙃. I use to be able to do 200 in 7 hrs at Amazon but takes me 8 1/2 hours now at UPS"

"As a 3 time UPS seasonal driver, this route looks is as easy as it gets. Wait until the center aisle is stacked to the top and having your 20th next day air be the small box that happened to get buried under all of it. You might have a good preloader now but wait until peak when they send him off to load the guys with seniority and you're stuck with the fresh hire that loads everything ass backwards. Do you not do commercial pickups? Peak season pickups will be having you load your entire truck packed with more packages than you left with burying the 100 residential stops you have left. People who complain about how hard delivering for Amazon is have never had a job like it and come from doordash or some dog :censored2:. Amazon is walk in the park compared to UPS. I honestly feel bad about making the same as what I did as a seasonal ups driver. I'm doing a 1/6th of the work and actually home for dinner."

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

You wished your truck looked liked that. I’d be done by 2:00 pm.
