Will the trickle down economics actually work?

If anything this Peak has shown that our infrastructure is woefully inadequate.
This peak has shown us that corporate bean counters aren’t putting enough routes on the road !!!!! Seriously Dave, are you that dense.... any center manager will tell you the same thing!!! Come on man, but down the glass of brown turd water and grab some egg nog for once... geezzzz!!!

Not that hard...they tend to shift positions depending on who is in the WH.

Stimulus under Bush-good, stimulus under Obama-bad.
Deficit growth under Bush-no issue, deficit growth under Obama (after the train wreck of an economy handed to him) most important issue and entirely his fault.
Under Trump, add another 1.5-2 trillion, no issue again.

Lesson, American voters have short memories.
American voters only care about going to the liquor store on Friday nights or getting that dime bag of weed.... more occupied by the stars on tv and In the movies, and what they are doing in their”dream” lives..only concerned about getting the latest”fast fashion “ outfit at banana republic or H&M.... rushing out to wait in a 6 hour line to plop down 1000k for an iPhone 10 when their iPhone 8 works just fine and is only 8 months old.... you guys picking up on a pattern here....The American people, as a whole, are idiots and not paying close enough attention to what’s going on right under our noses!!!

Starting wage is a waste of time.
Because they are realizing that in this “new” economy that having a ups supervisor or manager tag on your Resume doesn’t mean as much as it once did...basically they are stuck here as much as we are...fact
And I think you’ll see a few extra drivers with less managers. In our building we would religiously have 4 Center managers with each having 3 on car Sup’s. Now it’s common place to run a Center with only 1-2 Sup’s.

“When a candidate for public office faces the voters he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any save the most elemental — men whose whole thinking is done in terms of emotion, and whose dominant emotion is dread of what they cannot understand. So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or be lost... All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright maroon.”
- H.L. Mencken

The full quote is as follows:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage".

Alexander Fraser Tyler (1747-1813)
the problem is that none of that is true

the most famous democratic collapses had to do with excessive foreign wars or just being overwhelmed by surrounding enemies

very few collapse from over spending, and sure as :censored2: none by the time that guy said what he said so he was just plugging the usual aristocrat line, which is ironic considering aristocracies and monarchies ALWAYS spend themselves into oblivion

Depends on the Companies. Some companies will use the tax breaks to upgrade fleet, equipment, expand etc. The tax break will not go to labor costs. Others will just use those breaks to spend on another yacht, summer house etc. Wages will not be raised as a direct result.

I would hope PT wages would increase enough to attract a higher caliber of employees who will stay longer then the first break. The Hub and preload managers, I am sure, will agree with me.

UPS will $840,000,000ish in taxes a year. No reason we can’t ask for anything, including the day after Christmas since they took the day after thanksgiving.
