People like you in your generation will not retire ... there are tens of millions of Baby Boomers that can’t retire either.
I think we can cut across generations and just call them LOSERS.
the losers are the capitalists who took money from workers which never should have been theirs in the first place. especially the super rich who dont need the money. especially the ones whove created problems by making money.

we have public car insurance, and unlike our healthcare system which is better than americas, the car insurance is likely worse where im from. my dad is currently fighting them for the fifth wheel which was destroyed probably because of poor US road infrastructure. their agenda is to wear you down until you give up. we may go to supreme court.

I plan on working until I die, of course the "work" will be on my terms and for my satisfaction not someone else's and not necessity

I dont know what system is best tbh. Free market (completely free without regulation) seems to me like the Jeff Bezo's of the world would just completely dominate the markets and crush Americans by bringing in third worlders to deliver their packages for pennies. What are you gonna do? Protest Amazon? Good luck with that. They would lose .00000000000000000001% profit and just keep steamrolling competitors. For the same reason that construction companies hire illegals and when they get caught by ICE or BP and have to pay a fine, they pay it, like a speeding ticket, because they are making so much profit with their crew of illegals that it makes more sense for them to just pay the fines and keep going.

Im not a big government guy because the government, as witnessed in the last 50 years, can be an astronomical burden on the people. I just really dont know what the solution is to find some reasonable balance.

my theory on the free market vs govt argument was it was propaganda to get average joes to accept market traits like bankruptcy and little to know welfare, and meanwhile the rich got bail outs, deregulation, etc.

i think the argument should have always been about power.

Very reminiscent of the times of the Great American Captains of Barons.*

*Some 19th-century industrialists who were called "captains of industry" overlap with those called "robber barons". These include people such as Cornelius Vanderbilt, Andrew Carnegie, Andrew Mellon, Henry Ford, Leland Stanford, John D. Rockefeller.

Except the Jeff Bezos of the world get wealthy, create jobs, giving people what they want. That he's so successful is that anyone with internet access can become more efficient by finding exactly what they want or need, delivered to them, than spending their precious time hunting through various stores and often coming up empty. There will always be a place for brick and mortar stores but Bezos has built the better mousetrap. And gotten amazingly rich not by taking from his workers(for Ricky, Amazon pays double the minimum wage), but by owning a large amount of stock that has risen greatly in value because others see the profit potential of owning a piece of his company. Always interesting how some people think a guy with a dream is a quack until he achieves that dream. Now he's a threat or they're envious. Our system works because guys like Bezos work their asses off to succeed, providing jobs and wealth to others. Take that away with socialism and we'll eventually fail.

amazon has way too much dominance over the market and is a prime example of why capitalism doesnt work. it acts like a monopoly.

amazon treats its workers so badly that journalists pretend to be amazon workers, and the write about it. amazon treating its workers badly is partly how bezos got so rich.

everyone owning property which they dont use 90%> of the time is not efficiency.

but i do like amazons product ratings.
