    FMLA and Seniority

So my buddy is kind of sick, and should probably take a break from his preload shifts to get some tests run, maybe even recuperate. I keep telling him to look into FMLA, but he keeps insisting it will mess up his seniority and won't. Does taking a leave on FMLA suspend your seniority or reset...

    Stubborn Coworker Headed For Trouble

Very concerned here and just looking for a bit of advice. A fellow Preload/friend has a ridiculous attendance problem (already burned through option/whatever days for the year), which has earned him the scorn of management. Sore back, stomach problems, flu...he's had it all. After not seeing him...

    Vacation time after 2 years

I’m almost on my second year in the preload and a few seniority co-workers have told me both when you reach your second year you receive 2 week vacation time and I also was told it’s still only a week vacation time. Anyone have an idea on which is true Thanks

Part time employees jobs being eliminated by this proposed contract

I just read briefly over the proposed contract. It appears that the union has decided to push even harder to create full time jobs. I can understand this to an extent. There are union employees that do not want to work full time. In fact this had been a great resource for people who are...

Guaranteed Eight Hours Daily - now coming up short

A new hub was built in Plainfield, IN (900,00 sq.ft.). It is not quite fully operational yet. However, a lot of the work has now been sent to the Plainfield hub from the main hub where I work. We are now getting 3 to 3-1/2 hours per shift instead of our usual four for the full timers. This...

    Preload to casual driver

I have been preload for about 2 1/2 months now. I first started working there because I needed to get out of the house more. But now I’m making some money, so I want more. Today I was asked if I would be interested in taking the week long class of becoming a driver since they were wanting to...

No Deliveries After 9pm, Including Peak

Am I the only one who caught this proposal? In section 25 they’re asking the company to call back all drivers by 9pm and no one can be disciplined for missed pieces. EVEN in peak! Could this be the section that causes the strike? Or are they trolling?

How long can they keep you on the preload?

I have a 2nd job that starts at 10 sharp and it's a 20 minute drive. I can't stay past 9:30 and when I tell them I need to go they get all irritated with me. I signed up for work until 9 though?

Going on vacation, no vacation time.

I'm going to need Friday and Saturday off in a few weeks. I've only been with the company 6 months. I'm an unloader for the preload shift. I have no vacation time yet. I will be going on this vacation regardless of what they think about it. Can't decide if I'm going to call out or just tell them...

    Senority question. On topic

There are 20+ of us being kept on after seasonal for preloading in my hub. If we all have the same senority date, who has most senority? Everyone seems to be in for the long haul and most hope to drive eventually. I've read through the contract but can't find the answer. Thanks.

    Saturday Ground

Every route had 260+ stops with commercials. 2 of our drivers had 8hr days. 5 call ins. Personally can’t wait to see how many missed we can bring back lol

    Holiday pay

I have been qualified since October 2017 so my question is do I have to wait 12 months again to get the 8hours at driver rate for holiday pay?

    Messing with employees time

Is a sup allowed to edit an employees time by moving time under a lower pay code? I've asked for help on this and have wrote grievances galore to fix my time for my checks and nothing.

Quitting Air Driving, but remaining Preloader?

I am currently a part time preloader and air driver. They periodically pull me off the sort to deliver EAMs with hardly any notice and I work Monday - Saturday. I do not wish to continue air driving, but I still want to work the preload Monday - Friday. Is it possible for me to quit air driving...

Preload Pay - 2018 Contract (On Topic)

With the "contract leaks" thread getting way too long I decided to make a quick post gauging what they think starting pay will be like for preloaders following the new contract. I'm hoping on $15/hr with 50c/yr progression. What about y'all?

preload not making drivers job any easier.

I think it's really a shame how preload supervisors do not care AT ALL about what happens to the driver after dispatch so long as their own production numbers are hitting the mark. Ive worked on the preload a very long time and have noticed a steady decrease in the standards that the people...

    Personal Vehicle Driver-checking in

Got picked up for the season as a PVD. (Boooo!!! GTFO!!! SCAAAB!! <<< lol) Just to get some of that out of the way. I picked up the PVD gig to get my foot in the door with UPS. I originally applied for a seasonal driver position and was only offered PVD. I'd be glad to answer any...

    What are my chances?

I got hired for preload on the 21st of Nov. I work 3 to whatever, and always stay until everything is done, not just my line, but the whole line. Never been late, never missed a day. What are my chances for keeping the job?
